The Beginning
It was sometime in July 1992, when Vic Duller was invited by Rtn. Jun Junsay of RC San Pedro by phone call to attend their Rotary Meeting. Being a friend, Vic accepted the invitationi and brought with him his two friends, Ed Santos, Mon Villanueva and their wives. They were properly introduced by Rtn. Jun Junsay to the officers during the meeting. They were impressed by the way they conduct their fellowship among the members and particularly on the information that they gathered regarding the Object of the Rotary which is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise.
With this objective in mind and their desire to extend their help to the people of Sta. Rosa, they continued to attend other Rotary Club meetings and in one occassion, they met Governor Avel Obispo of RI District 3820 and they were encourage to form the Rotary Club of Sta. Rosa. With enthusiasm and eagerness, President Boy Miquibas and DGSR Bob LIm of RC San Pedro approached them and help them organize the much awaited Rotary Club of Sta. Rosa. RC San Pedro, being the mother club, started to pave the way by endorsing Fr. Mar Castillo and other successful businessman and professionals of Sta. Rosa. They all joined together in selecting possible members by business classification and the first meeting was conducted last September 16, 1992, Wednesday (7:30PM) at the convent of Sta. Rosa Catholic Church. It was well attended by fourteen prospective members with the presence of some officers and directors of RC San Pedro.
The interim officers of RC Sta. Rosa were formed, the Charter Board of Directors and Charter Officers were elected. Thirty six (36) officers and members were chartered and recognized by the Rotary International USA last December 28, 1992 and were presented in the R.I. District 3820 District Conference last February 28, 1993 at Valle Verde Country Club.
